Bonnie was founder and CEO of OHI, a Maine nonprofit, for 42 years. She served on the Boards of the Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) and Maine Developmental Services Oversight and Advisory Board (MDSOAB) for over 25 years. She has served on the Boards of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR), Special Olympics Maine, ANCOR Foundation, Maine Association of Non-Profits (MANP) and the Maine Association for Community Service Providers (MACSP) for several terms each. She has worked for the President’s Committee for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PCPID) in Washington, D.C. and has been a consultant to numerous states and providers. She was appointed to several committees, task forces, and advisory groups by various Maine Commissioners. She has been the recipient of many national and international awards including the John F. Kennedy, Jr. award for Workforce Advocacy and Leadership.”
She is on her local Planning Board and Historical Society Board. Bonnie is a graduate of Boston University, guardian for a woman with complex needs; Representative Payee for a person with IDD; and mother of an FNP and an OT. She is a lifelong advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities.
